Don't know if this is the proper thread to post this in but here goes. I was told there was a cure for the revolving circle near the mouse pointer when I was using XP, but here again I have it using Win7 constantly. I don't see anything that would cause this so I am asking for some help....

If you use the classic theme, you won't see the cyclone. It will be replaced with the hourglass.

Or are you looking to not have any indication that the computer is busy?

Maybe it is just me, but there seems to be a lot of threads like this lately. I'm beginning to think that the Windows 10 GWX data gathering is not being tolerated well by some computer configurations. It might not be the GWX process itself, but something that the GWX process conflicts with or triggers that is causing some computers to stay way too busy.

Rather than look for the cause via Task Manager or other tools like that, you might want to try these steps: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorial...ation-conflicts-performing-clean-startup.html

Going to try this but not now. Too slow in the head lately. Getting old.

Win7 should never hang or bog with a perfect install on adequate tested hardware.

Work through the Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7
to go over your install thoroughly which will often find problems and resolve them.

Have had this machine since Win7 came out and it has just lately started to act up. I also seem to notice it more when on FB.

It has nothing to do with your computer. It is a problem with Facebook's javascript code. With certain browser user-agent strings, Facebook is changing the mouse pointer to the "busy" state, but it does not return it to the normal state (it's the stopLookingBusy method in their code).

Still a good time to go over your PC most thoroughly with Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7.

Are you running a Clean Boot for optimal performance?

Does your hardware test without faults?

Are you clear of repeat errors?

Are any Problems queued which have Solutions?

I know that new posts are continually coming in so maybe that is the reason too. Also changes in active people in messages. Everything in following post is good. Thanks all.

If nothing else works then try removing the Get Windows Ten (GWX) update that UserNameIssues referred to earlier to see if it resolve the hang. This can be done following this tutorial: How to remove the 'Get Windows 10' app from your PC - Windows 10 Forums

You can still reinstall the Windows 10 update to reserve your copy any time in the next year, as explained in tutorial.

Please let us know the results of doing this so it might help others.
