Dual boot Windows 7/8.1 displays Vista startup

I have dual-booted Windows 8.1 and 7 (8.1 preinstalled), and when booting Windows 7, the Windows Vista start animation always shows instead of the orbs. I have tried running "bcdedit /set {current} locale en-US" and "bcdboot %WinDir% /l en-US" (Yes, my nationality is Japan, but this is an American computer with American Windows 7 HP) commands, but those issues are not solved. I know my 1920x1080 display meets the 1024x768 requirement for the animation. What can I do to reinstate the Windows 7 bootanim?

There you go. That's what it looks like, pretty much. Found it online since Print Screen won't work during startup.

Very sorry for the late reply, been without internet for a couple of weeks now.

Unfortunately using bcdedit as instructed in that article did not solve the problem.

I'm using a reused product key from a retail disk from Newegg (I built a PC a few years ago, broke a year ago), Microsoft says its valid. My current ISO came from Digital River before it went down.

I'll assume this is a ultimate edition not home premium that is stated under your user name ?

This is an American computer, and I installed the en-US version of Windows 7 HP. I just have residence in Japan.
