I was sitting at my PC when very suddenly the screen went all distorted, when I restarted it looked something like this (attached file). I tried to repair but installation DVD wouldn't even see the windows installation, so I reinstalled, it was painfully slow and got some failed to install messages along the way and finally it became distorted again. This is most likely hardware failing but which hardware? hard drive? MB? graphics card? its a averagely old PC which I've been using alot so I'm not sure what is not working exactly.

Edit: my specs on here are correct if you are wondering about them.

Test those hardware parts on other computer and see if it causes any issues on that. I don't think there's any other way to identify the problem.

At first I thought it's only graphics card but since whole system is slow, well, hard disk or RAM might be also dying.

Or...
Power supply might be slowly dying so all other hardware will suffer.

My best guess would be the power supply going bad.

I agree with you. Power Supply should be tested first

This is failing GPU, can you get a friends card and test it in your machine?
