That is a common response in your screenshot and the difference between ours and yours is:

Yours was preinstalled by a manufacturer and all support must go through them.

Ours were bought separately as system builder OEM copies.

Can you explain these a little more, neither one is "Technically correct" as written.

I think you are talking about is an all in one installer, those are made by removing a file in the installer.

If someone is selling them, I'd be wary.

As far as I know, it has all the files needed for an install. Even if it fails i'm only out a few dollars versus 60 or more..comparable to

I just tried my Seven Pro key at the Microsoft site, it worked halfway...

My system builder license now also works to download an iso file, they must have made some changes, good for them.

Cool it worked for a oem/system builders copy Derek I have not tried one personally all my disks have sp1 already so there's no point in me trying to enter a key for a download.

It's only accepting system builder OEM COA keys, not manufacturer OEM COA keys like Dell, HP, etc. those will get a message to contact them for support.

I don't believe OEM/SLP were ever an option.

The Dell, HP, ect should have a Microsoft sticker with the OEM key that I'm thinking will work. If one looses or can't read that Microsoft sticker they are going to have problems.

All I'm trying to do is figure out for sure what is acceptable and what is not. So I post proper information if needed.

System builder OEM are the ones that work, not any of the keys from manufacturers, SLP, COA.

They will just get a message that they need to contact the manufacturer for support.

This could change though, a while ago it was nearly impossible to get a download from them.

It's worth giving them the link, we don't have anything else to offer anyway.

That's good to know Simon, I can't see them having a bunch of different ones anyway.

I think it just gets labeled that after you enter your key.

OEM/SLP is a maybe but it's the best we have to offer. But if they have the Microsoft sticker that is readable on the Dell, HP, Acer, ect that should work because it's a Microsoft OEM COA key.

Microsoft is sure making it hard to keep up with what they will or will not accept.
