Hey,

Stereo Mix randomly works, it randomly does not, this is seen in my game recordings, some have no game sound (stereo mix).

It has been a while now without stereo mix sound. I havn't changed anything.

After spending days googling it, I think it has something to do with the fact that I have a headset.
It connects by a bluetooth usb adapter which has its own hub to connect a cable to charge it at the same time as use, someone said it's because it has its own sound driver which stops stereo mix ?

My headset is Logitech G930 but I think its the same for any headset.

I just want to be able to record sound in games (I use shadow play, comes with geforce).
I would also like to be able to record music.

I use my speakers more though.

I need stereomix to hear my computer sound again.

I tried using Virtual Audio Cable has someone else mentioned but It's just too much work every time to just get a type of stereo mix recording to work...

Thanks.

I have windows 10 pro now but I forgot my password and there is no forgot password button on that forum. This bug is in windows 7 too though.

If you don't use the USB headset and just use the PC speakers, does the Stereo Mix work OK?

I have tried disabling the headset in recording and playback window. I unplugged it so it doesn't appear in the recording and playback window, but still stereo mix does not work - it can not hear the sound.

Speakers, they plug into the green 3.5mm jack at the back of the pc, it even has the yellow and black jacks connected too. I have tried keeping only the green one plugged in and setting speakers as standard stereo, it changes nothing.

Post a screenshot of the Device Manager, Sound, Video and Game controllers section.

If you have multiple sound devices there can be conflicts and problems.
Without the USB headset plugged in, you should have one entry for your PC sound (for example Realtek) and you should have one entry for the HDMI audio and nothing else.

Disable everything except Realtek High Definition Audio and NVIDIA High Definition Audio and then see if Stereo Mix works OK. I've seen users with problems caused by other devices such as Cam's.

Actually, if you are not using HDMI, then Disable both of the NVIDIA entries.

Uninstall Realtek in the Device Manager, DO NOT uninstall the drivers. Reboot the PC and when Windows starts it will reinstall Realtek. This "refresh" seems to help a lot of problems.

Do you see anything while Audacity is recording?

I'll have to check Audacity. I use another program (Sonar) as I have a recording studio
