My pc is running windows 7 - 64 bit ultimate. I upgraded the motherboard of my PC in 2010 with second generation i3 processor and 4GB RAM. It has integrated intel graphics already.
Today I installed new Kingston DDR3 – 4GB RAM. My pc has detected it and running fine.

I also installed ZOTAC NVIDIA GT 730 (2GB) DDR5 Graphics Card in its PCI slot.

https://www.amazon.in/dp/B00L61VGPU/ref=cm_sw_r_wa_apa_u8tCxbWD7CB55

Unfortunately, when I turn my PC on, the monitor goes in power save mode. The graphic card fan runs smoothly.

I tried the following methods with the graphic card still properly attached within my mother board
1. My monitor connected to the graphic card via VGA cable. Nothing happened
2. My monitor connected to the graphic card via HDMI cable. Nothing happened.
3. My monitor connected to the original old slot (it works fine) through VGA cable. Nothing happened.

However, if I remove my graphic card, my PC runs fine. What should I do? I am running SMPS of 450 W. Upon confirming with my friend, he said that I should use 800-900W to run my graphics card. To my surprise on their official website, Geforce has listed minimum power requirements for my graphic card as 300W.

I don’t think that my graphics card is damaged as I bought it from Amazon. I have bought lots of electronics and delicate items from that site and have never received damaged product.

Hi,
Was it sold and shipped by Amazon or from another vender ?

Every time you switch ports you have to change the monitor settings to that port

I don't believe I've ever seen a 8-900w psu before :)
Most were 750-850-1000w
But yea over kill for that card.
Does it need or have a pull for additional power to connect to it on the top rear ?
I doubt it would.

It does not have any extra place to draw power. I l also tried to change my bios settings to select PCI slot first for graphics card in case of first preference, but I cannot find the option unlike seen in south bridge field.

This is my motherboard information.

How to disable on board video?

I did not install nvidia drivers because my pc is practically not running after I insert the card in the motherboard. Shall I install drivers first without the nvidia graphics card inserted, shut down my pc, insert graphics card and start it again?

I could not find such option.

You can see in my first BIOS photograph that auto detect dimm PCI clk is enabled. Does that mean my motherboard is set to automatically detect new graphics card when they are inserted in PCI slot?

That has nothing to do with it. What is under integrated clock chip configuration?

There is this information and no options for toggling or changing any parameter.

Thanks everyone for replying. My graphics card is now running. There was an option for som PCIe slot related to power and detection. I can't recall it fully. It was disabled earlier. I enabled it and then my PC started running with the graphics card inserted.

I will send a photograph of what option I'm talking about today so as to completely clarify what exactly I did to solve the problem myself.

I am grateful to all of you who replied to my problem. Thanks once again. :)

Hi,
I'd try Optimize defaults and see if it causes the issue again first :)

So it sounds like essentially the port was turned off or not set for a graphics card. Was this in the bios?
