Need media for windows 2008 R2 standard retail

Hi everyone,
very frustrating problem I need the dvd (or an iso file) for windows 2008 R2 sp1 standard.
I have a valid license key and all, but for some reason I can not find the iso online, at least not a clean copy.
I have found copies of oem with activation hacks but not the retail version.
Can anyone take mercy, I was on the phone with microsoft for over a hour and no dice.
if anyone here has a retail version (us) windows 2008 R2 standard including sp1, please help.

Use the official download page directly from Microsoft:

It's the trial version, which can be activated using the proper serial. During install you'll be prompted to chose an edition, there you can select "standard". Once installed, it will be in 180 days trial mode, but you can use your existing serial to activate it into a full version.

Thanks, but I would like to actually have a virgin copy of the standard retail, but there is a way to do this I think but I could use a walk through from someone .
Download the eval version
then somehow edit the iso to standard retail
then save iso
then burn
profit.
Any of you guys out there that can walk me through this process?

Also I cannot use that dvd to get into the existing installation seems like I forgot the pass I changed it too, so I really need to create the right media because the version your suggesting does not let me do recovery options

actually I went into the guest account and did my version of a bruteforce on the command prompt, I.e. I guessed till I got it right but still I would like to get my hands on an original iso. So this never happens in the future does anyone Have the retail version with 10 licences (2008 R2 standard sp1 ) I have the key I retrieved it from my server in case of problems so it is legal I just need the darn iso file.

I just found out according to Microsoft peeps that the timer is hard coded in and using a retail key will still expire the version so that is no good unless someone has a fix to make it full standard retail

I think you are doing re-activation, hence this is the problem.

Most likely you need to contact MS.

Someone will advise you further, as i am not able to.

Thank you this might just be it will be off the server till Friday and well clocking out in 33 min and the download will take another 40 min but I will verify on Friday if that did the trick but I think so

That link IS the original ISO, note that the link points directly to the Microsoft website, you can't get a "more original" download source than that, the final developer. It contains the code for all the editions glued together and gives the chance to select which one to install.
The real value comes from the serial you use to activate it. That´s what decides how many licenses and what feature set is available, the installation media is pretty much irrelevant. The link I'm pointing to is the most comprehensive option out there, then you use what applies to your particular case.

I really have no idea where that did come from, but of course makes no sense at all. The timer could be considered hardcoded (I'm sure it's not, but that doesn't matters), but activating the OS makes it "retail" and no longer "trial" and the timer goes away. There won't be any use of a trial and a freely available install media if you cannot do a normal install from it.

Just look at the many threads about Windows 7 activation, every install is actually born as trial, then upgraded to whatever edition the serial is. And remember that Windows 7 and 2008 R2 is exactly the same OS.
