This issue persists even with different keyboards and mice. Makes it impossible to type or do anything of note on the pc without on screen keyboard as when I try to type the pc thinks i want new tabs on browser, to bring up an "open file" prompt or various other functions related to modifier commands.

  • Sticky keys are completely turned off
  • I have swapped OS from Windows 10 to Windows 7 to start from scratch in case of registry conflicts
  • Have tried all the solutions I've seen on google

No idea what to do next. Any help would be appreciated. Hitting alt at any point will shut down the pc.

Currently typing this from my partner's laptop because on-screen keyboard sucks :s

Like I said this issue occurs even without the keyboard plugged in. I troubleshooted the keyboard before realising it wasn't a keyboard issue, though, and made sure drivers were correctly installed and my language was set up correctly, yes.

This problem can be caused by a faulty mouse problem.

Open Control Panel & select Ease of Access Centre & when that open select On Screen Keyboard & see if any of the keys are stuck down. If so see if you can un-click them, if that fails, then disconnect you mouse & see if that fixes the problem. If it does then the fault is with the mouse.

You could try another mouse or uninstall your existing one, restart your computer & then reinstall the mouse software if it has it's own software, otherwise just use the Windows mouse drivers.
