i just got a Samsung 300E4A series laptop with windows 7 starter installed. it came with just 2gig of ram.
i inserted a new two gig ram in the vacant ram slot to make it 4gig altogether.
After checking to see in system properties, i see 4.00GB (2.00 GB usable).
i've unchecked the maximum memory in the advanced menu of msconfig.
its all the same after restarting.
Your graphics chip is using 2 GB of memory, nothing you can do about it with a laptop, I would say max out the memory but you only have 32 bit installed.
Post a snip of Resource Monitor sowing the memory tab.
Nothing is going to help that laptop, not with that CPU
But it should make a good Frisbee

i'll install another version of windows and get back to you guys.
If you do the free Win 10 upgrade, you'll get upgraded from Win 7 Starter to full Win 10 Home 32-bit which can use 4GB of RAM.

wow! great. i just saw this now. I've actually installed win 10 pro. Although I'm yet to purchase the key. I guess i'll just do factory reset and then do the upgrade to win 10 Home. But then, after I installed win 10 Pro, i got 4.00GB (2.00 GB usable). Do you think win 10 home might give me the entire 4gig?
Use the command prompt method to disable hibernation with
powercfg -h off
