M/S has rejiggered their ongoing support policy for Win7, and 8.1 on the Skylake platform.
The company originally announced that all Win7, and 8.1 support for both Skylake, and Kabylake would cease.
Then they bowed to the pressure of the big dollar buyers, and announced on their website, continuing support for a list of their commercially manufactured Skylake P/C's, till the end of life of the two O/S's.
My question to M/S and the Win-7 community in general is," Where does a homebuilt P/C fit in this scheme?"
I just finished a nice Skylake rig for my wife and installed my completely legal Win 7 O/S on it.
My disc is pretty old, so M/S happily upgraded the O/S installation to current, with a 7 hour thrash of 267 updates.
Now I am worried that they will pull the rug out, and leave me hanging.
Does any one in this community know if a home built Skylake rig will qualify for continuing support with a Win 7 O/S?
