Shop replaced faulty graphics card with a NVIDIA. Result is frequent driver failure -

Display driver stopped working and has recovered

Googled the error. Seems a popular problem. Tried one or two but no go.

so here I am hoping you guys as usual can deliver.

Could be a driver issue. My old Vista laptop frequently used to do this back in the day...... and yes, it was a common issue.

It was hard going finding a driver that worked OK but eventually I did. The laptop is 10+ years old now, still going strong and runs Vista or W10 depending how the mood takes me. Never see the error nowadays with the alternate driver.

Try using DDU to totally clear the Display driver(s) you have installed - often remnants can remain from previous drivers and cause issues like you are seeing. [EDIT] installing multiple drivers without proper cleaning between installs can actually make things worse [EDIT]

Display Driver Uninstaller Download version 17.0.6.3

Once clear download the latest nVidia driver suite - Use the auto match system on nVidia.com to ensure you get the right one (follow their instructions carefully)

I was hoping it was the sort of answer that might point you in the right direction and give you something to work on.

You should make a system image first (I would recommend that anyway) and then you can try possible fixes without worry of causing problems. Hopefully when you find a fix you could then apply it to the untouched image.

Drivers are problematic, Nvidia particularly so in my experience (mine was a Geforce 6100).

I have downloaded tool and uninstalled Driver.

however finding installing correct driver is not going well.

The Card's CD wont load.
NVIDIA website is beyond me. Cannot get the manual search nor the auto detect to do there job.

The card is gigabyte GEFORCE GT-710

Can someone more skilled give me a click and download link please for the driver?

Set the manual search to this using the drop down options

Download the top item on the list which is the latest

Run the downloaded file and follow the instructions

How about providing OS, hardware specs, graphics card model, video driver version? Look into event log and paste contents of error here. Most moderators ignore pleas if they do not provide any information.
