Dual pairing a mouse in two Windows OSes

My goal is to use the same bluetooth mouse (not at the same time) on two notebooks both with windows 7. Googling it's easy to find how to reach the goal with windows 7 and any Linux distro or OSx; I haven't found so far anything about two windows OSes. The procedure seems to be quite simple:
1) pair the bluetooth mouse in the windows system
2) take note of the registry value under the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\BTHPORT\Parameters\Keys using the utility psexec.exe
3) pair the bluetooth mouse in the linux/OSx system and change in the correct file the value found before

I've tried hard to use the same procedure (that is much more detailed of course) between two windows 7 but it doesn't work; the main point is that according to this procedure windows has only one important parameter: the value found under the key mentioned before.

Any suggestion to move forward?

I don't use a BT mouse very often, but I'll assume the one in question uses a USB dongle? If so, I'll assume you have a spare dongle in the 2nd laptop so you don't have to constantly swap 'em out to use the mouse? I'm somewhat confused...

No, a BT mouse doesn't need a USB dongle (provided that the notebook has a BT chipset integrated) and this is its big pro: it frees up an USB port

What I would like to do is to use the same mouse with my two devices (actually a notebook and a convertible) without being forced to pair the mouse everytime I work on one device or the other.

Ok. Does the convertible not automatically remember being paired with the mouse? Surely it would, once first paired. If not, there has to be a way to make it permanent (same for the laptop). Is that what's holding you up from being able to use it, not staying paired?

That's correct: with the pairing both the mouse and the device store a code that of course is identical; the code is random generated and it changes in every pairing process.

The workaround with windows/linux-osx is to copy the code generated in the windows device in the appropriate file in the linux-osx device. Unfortunately this approach doesn't work when two Windows 7 are involved and I'm desperately looking for the correct procedure.

An obvious solution would be to buy a mouse, such as the Logitech M720, that supports the multi-pairing; I would prefer to avoid this way.

Glad, I found a post that may help you. Apparently, the BT MAC address must be the same, as well as the link key. Take a look and see if it'll work for you. The post references a dongle, but you might still be able to get the information you need without it.

I really appreciate the time you're devoting to solve my issue !!!!
Unfortunately I already saw the TD you're pointing me at but it doesn't fully apply to my case as I don't have a bluetooth dongle (my BT is integrated). But It does give me an idea: last chance would be to change the MAC address to one of the two adapters in order to have the same BT MAC address on the two PCs (although this condition is not requested in the classical dual boot windows/linux). I don't even know if it's feasible and/or easy to do. Another possibility would be to join that TD to check if they proceeded further.

Honestly I'm frustrated and disappointed and I'm probably going to buy a multipairing mouse. Let's see.
