Hi, why there is Microsoft Composite Battery in device manager? Strangely appeared on my computer freshly installed. I am using a desktop computer so it should not have any batteries.

There is no option to uninstall or disable it. The options are greyed out and not selectable.

My MOBO Asusu z170 pro gaming.

Is it maybe form USB 3.0, 3.1 drivers? Should I worried or reinstall system?

If you have an ASUS Z-170 motherboard (I have one - ROG Maxiums VIII Hero) you don't have a "DellPC" as listed ????

If you moved a hard drive from a Dell to the ASUS motherboard its probably from the old Dell?

Have to assume it was a cloned OS copy of a Dell laptop.
its also got Biometrics on there -

If not where did you get it??

Liable to go non-genuine shortly as well

Good point that I missed. The Dell OEM Windows OS is ONLY legally licensed for the PC it was delivered with.

Just fired up my old desktop.

FYI.... With every motherboard I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot of them, there will indeed be a battery on the mobo, that keeps power on the CMOS chip, to remember the date, time, drives, boot config, etc.

If I'm working on any PC that is around 4 years old or more, I just put in a new battery, usually a coin-type battery. CR2032 is the most common. They are generally pretty easy to change.

Laptops have a similar CMOS battery, but not always easy to find and change.

Good Luck,
TechnoMage
