Problem loading some webpages - Totally fine in SafeMode

HI there can anyone help please?

I have windows 7 and I have problems with some webpages loading properly and quickly. Examples are Travelodge, Daily Mail, Express etc - often pages with lots of stories and pictures. BBC is always fine however. Sometimes Facebook freezes and doesnt respond to clicks.

However in SafeMode with networking everything works fine. All those problematic wabpages run smoothly and quickly like flicking a switch.

I guess it is something to do with what Windows loads up when booting up. I have tried messing around with MSConfig and thru trial and error stopping some processes from loading but with little success.

Any answers please?

Thanks for the welcome. I have also updated with system info.

The problem affects all the browsers I use - Firefox, IE and Chrome. All work fine in SafeMode but in normal mode all seem affected.

And yes I am the admin.

It could be the antivirus / firewall. Do you have a internet security package?
It could be that the internet security package is filtering so it takes some time. When you boot in safe mode the internet security package isn't loaded and you have it fast.

Unless you have the paid version, MALWAREBYTES is only for on demand scans.
You must install an antivirus:
The Best 10 Free Antivirus Software 2018 - Best Free Antivirus
- MS essentials - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14210/security-essentials-download
- AVG - AVG Free Antivirus Download | Virus Protection Software
- I use Avira Download Free Antivirus for Windows 2018 | Avira

I don't like MALWAREBYTES because it stays on the background but isn't active.

For spywares I use superantispyware SUPERAntiSpyware - Downloading File

I think what you're saying is totally irrelevant to what is the OP's problem.
Also Malwarebytes stays in the background doing nothing because you don't want to pay for it, but you can do a manual scan and Malwarebytes is the best for this task.
It sounds to me that you got a personal problem with Malwarebytes and that is ok but saying that it isn't good that is not right.

Very happy with this buid.
I struggled a lot to find all compatible parts since I wanted an Intel 1151 based motherboard so to be able to install Windows 7.
I chose this case because it has amazing air flow, it's sturdy and looks good.
The case included 1x 200mm front and 1x 120mm back fans, I added 1x 200mm on the top and 1x120 bottom fans and modded the panels with black stockings for women s

1) You need to start by doing some cleaning and before doing that you need to empty the temporary folders and the bin so the scan takes less time.

2) Delete all history in all browsers you have, delete "everything" but you can keep saved passwords.

3) Do you know CCleaner? Install it and before doing the scan check the options.
Scan the programs and check carefully what is displayed before deleting.
Scan the registry and be very very very careful before deleting anything, if you don't know what is it, do not touch it!

4) Do a scan with Malwarebytes (since you already got it) but firstly update its virus database then do the scan.

5) Install Malwarebytes Adwcleaner (free) and do a scan: https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner

These are the basic and the most simple steps to do when the browser plays up then see how it goes.

looked, I think you didn't read my post.
You should never name a user's name firstly because it's already there in the quote and secondly because that could be considered unfriendly, I'm surprised you don't know that.
- What I said is relevant as OP doesn't have an AV.
I think there is some misunderstanding here because I feel like the OP is not clear about it and since he is running Windows 7 and he mentioned the firewall so I reached the conclusion that he should have Security Essential, but we need confirmation.
- I said that OP should have a AV as Malwarebytes isn't one.
Nope and your statement is misleading on purpose because you said that the free Malwarebytes only scans on demand, you didn't mention anything that Malwarebytes isn't an antivirus, you should check your replay.
Never said that Malwarebytes isn't good
You didn't say but you implied it by giving a negative opinion about and finally by suggesting another anti spyware.
I said I don't like it, as I don't like any memory resident program.
haha I'm having good fun here. We are talking about anti virus and anti spyware programs so they never reside in the memory? And what is the purpose of the RAM in a computer if not to allow the operative system and any program to reside in the memory? Do you know anything about computers?

Hi

What i find odd is that BBC works fine, as its highly graphics intensive, and the others dont:sarc:
(is it your homepage if so might explain the problem)
You could try
Right click anywhere on your desktop
Personalise >> Display >> Change display settings >> Advanced settings >> Troubleshoot

Would also be helpfull if we knew what programs are scheduled to run at start-up
Control Panel >> Administration Tools >> System Config >> Services tab .. tick hide MS .. screenshot it
and if your running behind a proxy

wouldn't hurt to run ESET on line,
https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwiwk9XniofYAhXPDuwKHd3hCNgQFggqMAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.eset.com%2Fus%2Fhome%2Fonline-scanner%2F&usg=AOvVaw3zPwVBXWztqIRfuw1VePWy

please install an AV.

Hi everyone - thanks for the help so far.

I installed and ran CCleaner and did some cleaning up. Havent touched the registry yet.

After this the frist time I brought up the Daily Mail page (which is a good barometer of the problems I am having) it loaded really quickly, virtually normally. BUT when I clicked on any story it took ages to load the next stage with really lengthy delays before the photos would come up - sometimes after 10 minutes or more parts of the page were still not loaded - sidebar stories and photos etc.

What should I try next - going into registry or look at startup?

What should I try next - going into registry or look at startup?

Go into each browsers you use and delete all history, check "everything" minus saved passwords, after that scan the registry with CCleaner, you could make a screenshot and show us the content of the scan.

OK I have deleted all history from all 3 browsers.

Also done a scan of registry with CCleaner. Loads of items found - hundreds.
Vast majority are ActiveX/com but here are a couple of screenshots to give a flavour...

It was better to empty the User and Windows temporary folders before doing the scan.
You didn't take the shot of the last part of the scan.
These ActiveX/com are not an issue so you leave them but if you want to play around, read this thread Ccleaner and ActiveX Issue

How do I empty the User and Windows temp folders? I thought I had done so last night when I ran the clean up.

There are about 50 pages of stuff in the reg scan coming up. Here is the last one.

I don't see anything suspicious in these results that could cause the browsing problems.
In my previous replay I suggested you to do a scan with MalwareBytes since you already have it but first update its virus database.
Then download Malwarebytes AdwCleaner and do a scan, read the instructions.
And we still don't know if you've an antivirus or not.
Another task you could try is to reset Internet explorer: Control Panel/Internet Options/Advanced tab/Reset button, but leave this task as the last resort because it'll reset not only the browser but the settings of windows Explorer.

Don't think that the OP problem has anything to do related to temp files and cache on the browsers.
It's always a good idea to clean the trash but OP said that everything works fine in safe mode. Also, OP reported the problem in all browsers.
As safe mode is the cleanest and most basic boot mode, the problem must be related to something is loaded (or should be loaded and it isn't) on normal boot. If it works fine in all browsers in safe mode, the problem isn't related to the browsers.

I can see that CCleaner reported a lot of issues related to AMD - ATI (graphics card). I would reinstall the AMD Radeon HD 7800 drivers and software.

Let start doing a check disk. Right click on the C: drive - Properties - Tools tab - Error checking - Check now - Auto fix - start
It will say that the drive is in use and if you want to schedule on next boot = Yes. Reboot

Run a system file check. Open a CMD window and type:
sfc /scannow

Open Device manager. Is there any yellow alerts of missing drivers?
Report the results on check disk and system file check.
