Solved Moving wired USB mouse causes momentary screen blackouts

Using Windows 7 pro with Firefox browser. I had a wireless mouse that for some reason locked up and forced me to do an undesirable power shutdown. I played around with my mouse settings and device manager said the mouse driver was working OK. But problem returned after booting up. I now have a USB wired mouse that worked ok for a few days but now frequently causes a very brief blackout when the pointer/mouse is moved on the screen. It is not only annoying but I wonder what PC issues it may be creating.

Any insights, suggestions or advice would be appreciated,

I wonder if there is a misbehaving program running in the background causing this problem.

You could check to see if this is the case -- here is how to do this:

Wired mouse can have a broken wire inside the cable.
Did you try another mouse?

Thanks Megahertz - yes tried 3 different wired mice and got same effect.
