Exactly which Updates KB...... are responsible for Spectre & Meltdown?

Does someone know and tell me the list of Win 7 Updates KB...... which are responsible for fixing Spectre & Meltdown (from the Windows side (not by BIOS-fimware updates))?

May be there is a comprehnsive list published in Internet?

The first Windows update to address this issue was the January 2018 Security update ... and an update to your AV program. But I understood that the mitigation was included in all Security Rollups since then.

Thank you so far.
But my intention is NOT to install these patches, but on the opposite to NOT install them!

They slow down my system dramatically.
As long as there are no exploits on the market they are not necessary.

For exclusion of these updates I need to know the exact Update identifiers.

So again: Which Updates contain Spectre/Meltdown patches?

I just googled it and didn`t come up with any actual update #`s, But then I didn`t look at more than 1 of them.

But both my W7 installs on my Z170 and X299 are protected and there are no performance issues at all.

If you run the tool I linked above (InSpectre v8) you will only get a Fair performance rating if you are running W7. And that`s just because W7 is old.

Then the simplest solution would be to AVOID any update from Microsoft that had occurred after December 2017. Run the InSpectre tool afterwards to double check your installation.

The Knowledge Base numbers are still obtainable from here: January 3, 2018—KB4056897 (Security-only update). Using this link, correlate the chronologically ordered updates (on the left side) with their corresponding KB numbers.

As you have Windows 7 Pro you are able to opt out of these updates, if you so choose to do so.

That is something I have mentioned numerous times in the first half of this year to those doing a clean install. It was best to leave doing WU until a proven solution had been found!
