Solved BSOD during gameplay - Monster Hunter World

Hey guys


Yesterday I had a BSOD while playing Monster Hunter World, I was wondering if you could take a look and provide some information about it.

You might want to know, not too long ago I purchased an intel SSD and moved my data from HDD to this SSD using Paragon Migrate OS (intel's own software wasn't working..) There were no BSOD's before that as far as I can remember.

Nvidia drivers are up to date.

What I did so far:


- Reinstalled my nvidia drivers. (cleaned old drivers with DDU)

I've had one more BSOD today, removing and reinstalling the GPU drivers had no effect.

Should I reinstall windows?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, as far i can see you have problem with RAM so test it for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.
If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

Regarding the illegal software, I used to have lotsa stuff pirated on my system, slowly merging to the light side over the years , they should be all gone now at your request.

8 tests passed on single thread, no errors

Before single thread I tried multi threading, it got stuck @ 24% on the first test, no errors, just a complete freeze:

So just one of the brands to test multi threading? Or should I skip multi threading and do single thread again?

Skip multi threading, Memtest86+ has never been properly tested for multi threading and any errors might very well be a false positive. Just leave the settings as they are when booting.

tested so far:

- every ram stick (single)
- every ram slot (single)
- 2x dual channel (2 brands)
- 1x dual channel both brands (1 brand each test)

no errors
I've decided to buy a new CPU mobo & ram sticks

more problems... I used Sysprep so I wouldn't have to reinstall windows with my new parts, my mouse and keyboard don't work (they do work fine on bios)

So I went for a fresh windows installation, popped in my windows disc, mouse and keyboard not working again

usb legacy support is enabled on bios settings, I tried all usb ports directly to the motherboard.

(also tried turning on and off everything usb related in bios)

safe mode is not possible

Do you have a spare keyboard and mouse you could test with? It sounds like a faulty motherboard, but to be sure I would test with a spare keyboard.

Bought the converter for only 50 cents from a guy nearby

got everything working properly now. Microsoft such a pooper with their win 10 garbage

which software are we talking about? cause i'm pretty sure they're all removed, does vuze count as piracy software?

could be some leftovers I forgot, can you point me towards the right direction? I'm considering reinstalling windows so removing software really isn't of my concern..

Vuze is not considered piracy, because it is a tool to get software which doesn't necessarily have to be illegitimate.
Unlike certain authorities, there is no judgment here over the possibility that you could have used Vuze for downloading cracks. The only statement you read is the statement of the software that actually does crack software.
Talking about a dutch authority here who wants to charge someone for the possibility that he could have installed a backdoor in software that was used for illegitimate purposes by a lot of people. Emphasis on 'could' because they have not been able to proof it happened.

I was mainly talking about an entry I noticed which is a well known crack for Windows/Office, KMSPico. If you look in the msinfo32 in your logs you'll see KMSPico is present under Software Environment > Program Groups.

I want to note that I didn't write my previous post correctly, I know that you didn't ignore my warning (this is an answer to your PM) since you stated that you had removed everything on your system you were aware of to be piracy.
After your post about leftovers I realized that this entry might have been a mere leftover in the registry, installed programs have an issue with not removing their own traces properly and this program might have been removed but not have removed its own traces properly.
