Solved BSOD during gameplay - Monster Hunter World

This software was indeed used to crack microsoft office and was indeed a leftover I must've skipped. I did not have any office products on my pc anymore when I continued testing.

Anyway, I've updated to windows 10, hopefully everything's fine now, I guess time will tell.

Thanks for any assistance so far.

I knew something was still wrong as my game crashed quite often, I was just waiting for a BSOD to pop so I could finally post it.. and here it is.

It does seem to blame on audio drivers I think? And seems to be usb related? I do have a headset with usb connection, if that matters.

FYI everything on my system, except for PSU, SSD & GPU, is new.

So it has to be the SSD or GPU? This could be a different issue but you should know, the sudden game crashes are still present.

Hi Chulain,

Currently I am in the middle of a few exam weeks and will need some time to get to your thread.
I'll try to get to you within 2 a 3 days, but if I haven't responded after 3 days feel free to PM or VM me.

Hi Chulain,

For at least some of the dumps there is a common factor to do with kernel streaming on both systems. You mentioned a USB audio headset. I've seen a few people having BSOD problems while using some Sennheiser headsets, recently. Last I heard they were trying to work with Sennheiser to figure out what was going on but I've not been updated since. What make/model headset are you using?

Tested with:
- another GPU
- the game on my SSD instead of my HDD
- headset unplugged

Got BSOD again. How is this still possible? The only thing that didn't change is my OS being on my SSD. Could it be the SSD?
It's a fresh windows 10 install.

Just installed windows on my HDD, let's see how things go.. This is probably the last idea I got.

Any tips or suggestions are appreciated.
Could someone point me towards the right direction or none got any clues?

Are these BSOD's similar to my BSOD before changing hardware?

It looks like XMP is used, please revert back to the default SPD profile and test your system.

Haven't had any BSOD's during gameplay for some time now on following setups:

- OS on ssd with 3rd party software & XMP on
- OS on HDD, XMP on
- Today, fresh OS install on the SSD again, limited software and disabled XMP

Not very sure whether the issue is resolved or I'm just being lucky cause sometimes I wouldn't get any bsod's for hours of gameplay.

Should I run memtest or anything else? Or just keep gaming?

Just keep XMP off for now and use your pc like you normally would.

Haven't had a crash for some time, I manually changed my RAM speed to 3200 instead of using XMP. Is this a bad idea? I did buy them to run at 3200 after all.

It's been running fine so far.

XMP is an overclocking profile, or a predefined configuration for overclocking. You can also change everything manually, if changing the speed at 3200 doesn't give crashes you should be fine.

I recommend you play a little with the memory settings to see if you can find a stable configuration.

Will do, you are 100% positive it's my ram that's the issue, right? Or we haven't figured it out yet?
Too bad my BSOD's aren't frequent enough to find out quickly whether it's the ram speeds or not.

With BSOD crashes one can never be 100% positive until it's tested. But I am quite positive about it.

The ones I replaced were ddr3 1333, they don't work on ddr4 slots, do they?
