Two Drive Letters Insist on Staying Hidden ???

Some time back in my shaded past, for reasons I have long ago forgotten, I hid two drive letters by using the regedit > dword value method.

Now, I badly need these two drive letters to NOT be hidden.
Yesterday, I went into regedit and changed the dword value to 0
It seems like I may have then restarted the machine, or maybe not -- I can't remember.

After the change to 0, both missing letters showed up just like I wanted.

Now, both have disappeared again.

I checked the dword value and it is still set at zero.

How can I get these drives to quit hiding ?

One is my second optical drive and the other is the first letter in line for external connections.

1. Select the Start button, then select Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization.
2. Select Folder Options, then select the View tab.
3. Under Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives, and then select OK.

Thanks; I already had done that.

I have since restarted numerous times and now they have decided to reappear; hopefully, they will stay there this time.

I will give it a few days before I mark this solved; who knows, I had them showing, then they disappeared, and now they have decided to reappear again; they may disappear again tomorrow.
