All of a sudden the drivers stopped working. I redownloaded and installed the latest drivers from the manufacturers website, but I'm still getting an error with bluetooth drivers in device manager. Is the registry corrupted? Should I delete the drivers from the registry or something?

Here's what happens when I uninstall and restart the PC.

So I guess it's partially installed because I can connect my bluetooth with my phone and can receive files, but other uses like playing a ps4 controller or using a bluetooth server software aren't working.

Hi pakkit,

Why did you set my problem as solved? It's still not solved mods.

Are you sure you didn't click the green Solved button next to the Post Quick Reply and Advanced buttons?

You can mark it as Mark Unsolved yourself, the Mark Unsolved button is next to the Post Quick Reply and Advanced buttons.

I hope this help!

Update : I got a usb bluetooth dongle to try and get it working. But it's not. Same issue where it doesn't find any device when I try to connect. So is this a windows 7 corruption issue and not a driver issue probably?

Sfc scan now doesn't show any errors, so I'm stumped.
I really don't want to do a clean install. Any help?

Have you tried a system restore point prior to this happening?

Did you update any software or run WU [Windows Update] prior to this happening?

Hi pakkit,

Run CHKDSK [Check Disk], please follow my instructions below!

CHKDSK [Check Disk]

CHKDSK [Check Disk] is a Windows utility program for detecting and repairing any corruptions of the file system [FAT16, FAT32, and NTFS drives]. CHKDSK must be run from an elevated command prompt:
  • Click Start.
  • In the search box type cmd.
  • Right-click the cmd icon from the search results under Programs and select Run as administrator.
  • The elevated command prompt window will now open.
This one repairs errors on the disk and scans for bad sectors, it then attempts to repair or recover any readable information [implies /F]. Copy chkdsk C: /R [yes there are 2 spaces there] and Paste it [you need to use the mouse right-click and paste for this as CTRL+V doesn’t work] into the elevated command prompt window and press Enter - This does repair any file system errors or corruptions on drive C:\, provided that the disk isn’t in use. If the disk is in use [locked], CHKDSK displays a prompt that asks whether you want to schedule the disk to be checked the next time you restart the OS, click Yes to schedule this check and then Restart. After CHKDSK has completed, Windows should boot normally [possibly after a second auto-reboot].

CHKDSK [Check Disk] - Log File

NOTE: The CHKDSK log can be found in the Event Viewer:

[1] Click Start.
[2] In the search box type eventvwr.msc and press Enter.
[3] On the left-hand side under Event Viewer (Local) expand Windows Logs and click Application.
[4] On the right-hand side under the Actions pane click Filter current log.
[5] In the Event Sources: dropdown box list select Wininit and press Enter, then click OK.

You should now only see the CHKDSK log files displayed from the Wininit Event Sources] and the information pertaining to each of them.

I hope this helps!

Hi pakkit,

Have you checked that the Bluetooth service is running?

[1] Click Start, in the search box type services.msc and press Enter.
[2] Right-click the Bluetooth support service, and then click Properties.

Check that the service status is set to Started and the service type is set to Automatic.

I hope this helps!

I disabled system restore because of space issues. I didn't run any Windows updates before this. I will try to run chkdsk.

You can change/amend the amount of disk space that system restore uses. You should always set it so it allows at least two or three system restore points for such cases/situations/scenarios as this!
