I am having an issue lately wheres dragging and drop to and from Windows Explorer is not working,
it will give me a no-go/cannot-due mouse cursor.

like when dragging a file out of WinRAR and into an open explorer folder... it will fail... some times...

I have "Launch folder Windows in a separate process" --> ENABLED

Maybe there is a bug in it...

any thoughts anyone on how to resolve this issue?

Maybe not a fix, as such, but some ideas anyway.....

I recently had to save all of a friends "My Documents" folder to a second HD, while I working on his C: drive. First off I wanted to just select all the files in the folder and then just drag and drop them to the new folder on the backup drive. NO GO! First thing I found was that some of the sub folders in his Documents folder were Write Protected. Explorer wouldn't touch them. Even after I UN-Protected those folders, I still could not just drag & drop, or Copy & Paste, more than about ten files at a time. Seemed like the process has a MB limit. So I just moved the files ten at a time and eventually got the job done.

If that were a process that I might have to repeat, over and over again, like backing up My Documents to a Backup Drive, I'd just write a little batch file that uses XCOPY and that would Automate the process. There are many switches for XCOPY and writing them one time to a batch file is a lot better than trying to remember them (all) every time you need them.

** I actually use that technique to back up my own "My Documents" folder to an external USB drive, once a week, as a part of my own Data Management routine. **

In a DOS batch file, the ATTRIB command can also be used to remove attributes like "Read Only" before using XCOPY to then copy the files. That's another little trick I've used in times past.

Good Luck,

That is one reason, instead of data folder and file macrium reflect backup, I only do mr intelligent copy full image backup, or ditto using IFW from Terebyte Unlimited.

FWIW.... I've been using "Ghost" since it was first released by a little known Software Co. in New Zealand, in 1997. In those days, we were updating a lot of computers from small HD's to larger HD's. Ghost did a beautiful job of Cloning a small drive to a larger drive. It was simple, efficient and I never had a failure with it.

Later, I found out I could use Ghost to back up my C: drive and compress the image file to fit on a second drive partition or another drive, or even a large Flash Drive. It will even span multiple DVD's.

But, that requires me to shut down my computer and reboot my PC, using my Ghost CD or Flash Drive and then execute the appropriate function. My PC will be tied up till the operation completes. I still do that at least once a week, and I do a CLONE of my C: drive (SSD) to a 1TB spinner about every two weeks.

Whereas, if I execute my Backup batch file, from a Desktop icon, it will back up my data files, without any further action on my part, other than plugging in my 1TB USB drive, and I can even do other work, or write emails while the backup completes.
A nice feature of XCOPY is that I can tell it to only back up files that are new, or that have been updated or written to since the last backup. That greatly shortens the time it takes to do the backup.

I've written Backup batch files for many of my customers and they love the simplicity of it.

But....to each his own.

Cheers mates!
