How to run the eicfg. utility on the downloaded iso?

Apologize for my ignorance, got it removed from the iso using the extracted file eicfg_remover.

Despite file removal is still displaying Home Premium with SP1 ??

Fixed on the burned DVD, gives all 4 version for 32 bit x86.

open folder
open sources
locate ei.cfg
delete it's a text file that point to one version all are on win7 isos. Your key is still only good for pro.
Make sure you have your 25 character key, you will need it to reactivate.

Correct, I see that but where is it's text file that you mentioned in an earlier post?
After removal of efi. would still get the option of all 4 versions during install or just W7 Pro?

ei.cfg is the text file that guide the installation process to install a particular version (in this case, Home Premioum)
When you delete or rename it, the installation wizard will ask what version you want to install as any M$ installation disk has all versions. To unlock all versions you unzip the eicfg_removal_utility in the same folder you have the Win 7.iso file and run the utility.

There is also a readme.txt file:
"When used on an original Windows 7/8 ISO image, this utility will disable the
ei.cfg file, thus converting a disc image into a "universal" disc image.

When used on a Windows 7/8 ISO image that has already been patched by this
utility, this utility will undo the ei.cfg removal and restore the disc image
to its original state."

The reason for all this is cause want to run W7 on my Dell, (though 10 Pro x64 installs fine), but have driver issues only 4 gigs memory and a fragile graphic card and none 64 bit version of I8kfanGUI utility.

Intent having all W7 updates slip streamed into the 7 SP1 provided by Megahertz.

10 Pro would run on my desktop.

Windows Setup Edition Configuration and Product ID Files

It is not necessary any more to have ei.cfg, unless you wish to limit the iso to specific versions and why do that?

Edition ID tells Windows setup which edition should be installed.
Channel can be either OEM or Retail.
VL represents Volume License and it can be either 1 (for True) or 0 (for False).
So the simple solution is, delete "ei.cfg" file from setup and it'll ask you to choose the desired Windows 7 version at the time of installation.

OEM has long been in recovery partition with (recovery disk which is not Win7iso), since then ei.cfg is basically obsolete. The Win7 iso from M$ hasn't been changed since addition of SP1. needed for upgrades, slip stream, has to be included in iso from M$ or it don't work.

Microsoft Volume Licensing is a term used by Microsoft to describe a program for organizations that need multiple Microsoft product licenses, but do not need multiple copies of the software media and the documentation that comes with the software.

No problem, I presumed you were familiar with Google.
Make sure you have your 25 character product key in that is active on the machine, you will have to reenter it after repair install
