Got Malware titled Browser Modifier Win 32 Prifou, I need help!

I have the subject malware in my computer, I have tried everything I know without any good results. It has infected my download file, so every time i try to load my latest AV program it stops me. I could really use some advice!!

If you do, you can run it from a USB or CD/DVD

Do you have a restore point prior to infection
Do you have a recent backup? Preferably on an external hard drive?

Snick, I have been trying to download free malwarebytes but windows 10 won't let me, it keeps changing my download to premium which costs $40.00. I wouldn't mind the money, but I'm going to change that computer to win 7 as soon as I can!
My malware has removed all restore points and disabled any thing to do with downloads. I do not have a recent back up either.

Hi Buzz,

apparently MS's defender on W10 removes it, so try the offline version.


OR

as you intend to upgrade to W7 go for a clean install of W7, Iso link can be provided
Check your comps homepage for drivers, are they available

You can use the premium version as a trial. You don't have to pay for it.

However, I use an older version, & I update database every time before I run it.

Here's the version I use
Malwarebytes Free Version 2.2.1.043
Malwarebytes old versions - Windows

Update database on any version!

As you have a confirmed virus infection on your computer, the only sane option right now is to just reformat the whole thing and perform a clean install of Windows to ensure it's clean again.

Don't bother with antiviruses or malware removal "tutorials" at this point. They've already failed you.

Do you have USB flash drive, CD, or DVD you could install it on and run from there?
