Has anyone come across a link with all the required updates and rollups for Windows 7 - as of early 2020.
The info I have may be missing parts.
As well, some packages may include sub-packages.

Service Pack 1
April 2015 Servicing Stack Update (KB3020369)
April 2016 Convenience Update Rollup (KB3125574)
September 2016 Servicing Stack Update (KB3177467)
July 2016 Update Rollup (KB3172605)
August 2016 Update Rollup (KB3179573)
October 2016 Security Monthly Quality Rollup (KB3185330)

What exactly are you wanting to do?
Are you wanting to install a copy of Windows 7 which does not have Service Pack 1 as part of it?

Well yes, service pack 1 and everything that came after that ... in lieu of the online updates which takes ages.

There's a guide to which offline installers you'd need and how to use them here:

https://www.sevenforums.com/windows...all-windows-update-kb3125574.html#post3392549

All the offline installers can be downloaded from the Microsoft Update Catalog. Just search for each by its KB number.

In addition, you'd first need SP1, available from here...

None of this stuff is essential. You're mentioning two superseded Servicing Stack Updates, two 2016 optional ones, the first SMQR ever and the 4-years-old Convenience lump.

Scratch 3020369 and 3177467 and replace it by 4490628. Scratch 3172605 and 3179573 altogether. Scratch 3185330 and replace it by 4534310.

Add 4474419 and 3138612. Reconsider 3125574.

Either way you'll be nowhere near to done after applying up to five updates, even if the very latest.

Thanks to both for responding.
Volume Z, are where can I get this information officially ... as my web search has only given info from 2016/2017.
With the updates you mention (4490628, 4474419 and 3138612, etc), does this still give the issue you mention ... "Either way you'll be nowhere near to done after applying up to five updates, even if the very latest"?

This post is long but very informative. To sum it up, rather than installing many many updates, being careful to avoid unwanted ones, some kind people have put them in a ~850MB installation package that I believe eliminates superceded and unwanted updates. Also a script to run afterwards to uninstall telemetry and other unwanted garbage. Please read all of this, I found it very educational: MS releases SP2 for Windows 7 I'm like you, doing a new install and trying not to garbage up my system. There are some people in that thread that really know their stuff! The name of the big update package is Simplix, I downloaded it from Download Simplix UpdatePack 7 - MajorGeeks

OldSchool11:

1. Install Windows 7.

2. Install Service Pack 1 if it is not part of the Windows 7 install media.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5842

3. Run Simplix Update Pack 20.6.11
Download Simplix UpdatePack 7 - MajorGeeks
It will install updates in 3 separate groups and then will run Disk Cleanup.
Depending on the speed of your computer, the entire process will take about 1 hour.

4. Run Windows Update to install Internet Explorer 11 and Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8

5. Run Windows Update again to install any remaining important updates and any needed optional updates.

Windows 7 should now be up to date through June 2020.

Thanks to both for the advice.
I spent a lot of time researching and there is so much to to read but but most information is outdated.
I have now installed and have the following questions if you don't mind.

(1) Do I need to download and install every month?
(2) Does it exclude unwanted telemetry updates?
(3) Most important question ... is it safe to use Windows 7 with this installed?

I have done a clean install of Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit in several computers during the past month, and then used the current Simplix Update Pack tool afterwards, and then run Windows Update afterwards.

The entire process was very straight-forward and brought the operating system up-to-date to June 2020.

"Patch Tuesday" for July 2020 isn't here yet, so I don't know yet if the important updates for that month will appear in Windows Update to be installed.

And yes, the Simplix Update Pack tool is safe to use.

I installed the Simplix package last night, it went smoothly. Just let it run, it will restart your computer a number of times. I then ran the anti-telemetry kb_spy.cmd script that Megahertz07 posted (right click, "run as administrator"). I checked Win Updates and very few critical updates were there. I ignored them until I research them. I plan on manually checking updates every month. Then I installed Bitdefender Free AV. Then I installed Comodo Free firewall, forgetting to turn Bitdefender and Windows Firewall off... Bitdefender falsely flagged some Comodo install files so I have to figure out how to fix that today. Doh. Once that's done I think I'm secure at least for now. The Simplix package is up to date as of the 11th of this month and is supposed to be free of telemetry updates.

I also had some issues authorizing Win 7. I had to make the robo-call and read off about 48 numbers. Then I was read about another 48 numbers that I had to enter. Then I was told to write those numbers down for possible future need. Which took twice as long as it should have because every few seconds the voice asked "Are you done yet?". Honestly, so many numbers are an unnecessary pain... Ah well at least I have a fully authorized up-to-date OS now.

I normally install the necessary drivers(chipset, graphics, audio, ethernet, wireless, etc.) and get Windows 7 activated first before putting the Simplix tool to use.

However, waiting until after putting the Simplix tool to use before installing drivers and activating Windows 7 can also be done.

Thanks again for the feedback.
I am still unsure fore the next "month", maybe you have explained ... is it a download of approximately 800MB again with 1 hour install, or is it just to install the latest updates (in this case, were these from Microsoft or Simplix).

Simplix is an update pack, not a Microsoft Update from their servers.
Most updates are not large, except for the cumulative ones.
Can't say the size of the updates other than that.

Sorry it's still not clear to me.
How do I then get each update after this 800MB download? The website is not in English.
Am I missing something?
Not feeling quite secure at the moment.
