AMD HD2600 PRO cant get AMD Catalyst to show up in program list

It appears to install ok with no errors.
But there is nothing to run,
The driver installed is
4-25-2009
8.56.1.16

I downloaded the 32 bit driver from AMD.com for windows 7

I had earlier installed a newer catalyst and it failed as I did not have the HD4000 series.
any ideas?

I am looking for ccc.exe on the hard drive and it is nowhere. So what the catalyst installer does, who knows
It never gives an error

a folder it creates ATI Technologies, is always empty!

I have downloaded multiple older Catalyst control center installs, and NONE of them ever installs the program, it installs other things like LOTR game stuff, or SDK for ATI. Looking at the setup log, it seems to always skip CCC...like the installer thinks it is already installed, but the ATI folder is EMPTY

Proof also is when you go to uninstall by way of the installer, it never lists the CCC when you do a custom uninstall, because YEAH it is not installed. AMD has a brain dead installer program here, useless.

I have done everything here and now am installing dotnet 4.8
Every windows 7 update is installed.
there was no public key token file by that name mentioned in these instructions

Can you Right-mouse click on blank space on desktop area? This produces a drop-down menu, and the first item on the menu is usually CCC.

If you are not getting that, run dxdiag from the Start Menu and then save the report Information and upload results to your next post on this forum.

Hello, I had a look at the dxdiag report, and there was nothing unusual in there.

did you also complete step 4. of those instructions:

4. Delete the contents of the C:/AMD folder of all previous drivers

and did you

Reboot into SAFE MODE

before running DDU?

I did everything, but did not delete c:\AMD folder
I did delete c:\programfiles\ 'everything AMD'
