So, as anyone who's gone and purchased it must've already noticed, CP2077 specs say it'll work on Win7, despite being a DX12-based game. Not only they're the first game to do this (since WoW, but that happened back when Win7 was still supported), but I've heard from GOG Staff that the game will "ship with all required DLLs to make DX12 work as intended on Win7", and this has left me wondering...
Would it be possible for anyone to just take those DLLs from CP2077 and copy them onto a DX12 Win10 Exclusive (say, the HZD PC port) and make them work on Win7? It's no secret that the DX12 Win10 exclusivity is purely artificial and that DX12 would prolly run just as nice on Win7, but if this game came with something that broke that artificial barrier, could it be something that can be replicated and somehow made into a sort of "Unofficial DX12 Patch" for Win7?
This is something that may be good to look into; breaking DX12's lock on Win10 would ruin the biggest stranglehold that Microsoft currently has on the system.
