IE 11 is 2021 definitely is not a good idea. So, are there any available security extensions for IE 11 or ad blockers? The in-built ones are of course, not trustworthy.
Currently using ABP in IE 11.

In Firefox, I have uBlock Origin + Malwarebytes Browser Guard + DuckDuckGo Security Essentials installed. So I guess it's just secure enough.

On my two W7pro laptops, I installed W7 Edge, and had it soak up all extensions from Chrome browser, it is now guarded as well as Chrome. I have IE enabled, I just use it sparingly -- still trying to find a few more extensions for IE. I'll be listening in and learning from others.

ABP seems to be the only "free" ad blocker available for IE

there's Adguard which could also work with IE but it's only free for 14 days

If you're computer savvy, then read here. Some people use it, I personally won't because it's a catch all and I don't see how I can whitelist without having to log into the server which makes the whole thing a pain in the rear. That's why I like uBlock Origin so that I can pick and chose what I block and pause blocking per site right from the browser.

It's just like the whole VPN in a router approach. Running everything from a VPN can cause issues. Depending on what IP you're using for the VPN in the router, Google may not like that server that the IP comes from. Neither will PayPal, eBay or perhaps Amazon. It could also lead to account suspension due to looking like shenanigans. So I use a VPN on a per website basis from the software in the OS its self and not on a whole router approach.

So yeah, this is all a catch all with Ad blocking, malware domains blocking, etc with PI Hole. You might be able to interface PI Hole with IFTTT. So then you'd issue a voice command to your smart speaker to turn it on or off. No idea if India has smart speakers or whether your government allows it. I even read a brief headline that DuckDuckGo was banned in India. Is that true? Glad I live in the U.S... screw all that bull crap. That's as bad as Iran or China themselves. Hell! Even in the UK I read they block porn! LOL Apparently they lifted the law though. Internet censorship in the United Kingdom - Wikipedia

I'm sure the U.S. government will try doing that, but it won't pass the muster of the court of public opinion or maybe even the Supreme Court. We just burn shit down if that happens. LMAO! (Well, not I, but stupid people do).

Edit-

You may be interested in filtering at the domain level as well. Read here.
