Hi all.
I just tried to install win7 on an asus laptop.
It all goes smoothly until it reboots after i have conntected to my wireless.
It all seems to work great. It loads like a normal boot, then i get a screen with the error: Can not open file: c:\RECOVERY.DAT
ERROR
The error word is written on big red letters.
Have anyone got anything to suggest here?
I can press any button and nothing happens.
I cant even start in safemode.
I get the same error.
Thanks in advance for any help you all can give me.
I would like to know what model your laptop is and also how did you try to install Windows 7, was it an upgrade or a full version, and if full version then which partition.

Yes, delete that partition if you know you don't need. Use hard drive utility to mark your windows partition active. There are Linux Live Boot discs that can do these things. Then run startup repair.
Maybe not best way, but seems in my thoughts that it should work.
That's weird, I didn't delete that partition on my Asus laptop and it worked, and works even better than Vista (mainly because of the video card driver problem I had).
