I keep "losing" a SATA drive

Hi

All of my drives are nvme, save for one which is SATA. It just has some files, is all.

When I boot the computer, that HDD is visible, and I can r/w

Some time later, it is gone; I can not see it in W.Expl, nor in Comp Mgmt.

A reboot solves this, but only temporarily. It's a WD black HDD, which is not supposed to go to sleep like the green ones.

In Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options, I have: HD > Turn off HD after > Never

Any place else I can look?

First job is replace cable and second swap ports

Check the drive health (SMART data)
Download Crystal Disk info, extract and run. Don't need to be installed.

Ok, just did. It's reporting an "Uncorrectable Sector Count"

I would do a backup ASP.

backup your files and replace the WD black HDD with a new HDD as the WD drive is showing some signs of hardware failure
