You got me curious, so I decided to see if I could load and play those 3 on-line games.

This is what appeared for each one:

A network error occurred while communicating with the game server.
Error Code: 0x80041004

What ever you do to get these games working there is no way to get it working as i mentioned: Microsoft have stopped Internet Service for these 3 games and that error code does not mean you dont have internet it means there are no avalibale servers to execute the downloaded code
to the game

I've never had any interest in playing those 3 games.
I was just responding to your thread.
I had a working 500 Mbps internet connection when I received that error message.
I agree with you about it being a server issue.

I'm afraid not, they relied on the games servers. The servers for W7 were turned off in 2020.

Farewell to Microsoft Internet Games on Windows XP, Windows ME, and Windows 7

Hello, Microsoft Internet Games players, it is with heavy hearts that we have made the difficult decision that the following games will no longer be supported.

  • Internet Backgammon (XP/ME, 7)
  • Internet Checkers (XP/ME, 7)
  • Internet Spades (XP/ME, 7)
  • Internet Hearts (XP/ME)
  • Internet Reversi (XP/ME)
  • MSN Go (7)

Microsoft Internet Games services on Windows XP and ME will end on July 31, 2019.
Microsoft Internet Games services on Windows 7 will end on January 22, 2020.

What they take with one hand, they give with another (albeit browser-based now)...

I also have W7 Pro on my System Two, and several W7 Hyper-V VMs. My other machines run Windows 10/11. Their specs are in my Ten Forums & Eleven Forum profiles.

Reviving old thread, in my opinion, it is not impossible considering attempt to bring Live Messenger back to life was somehow succeed, but it will be real pain, and can't be done on end user level.

I think that with enough dedication, someone that knows assembly might be able to reverse engineer the games and get them to work. However, I'm not both. The only information that I got was that the games *might* have used the server "http://www.microsoft.com/WindowsMedia/Services/2003/10/10/games/GetGamesByWmGameId/" or "http://LABINTWEBWM02:1700/games/GamesWebService.asmx".
