So bought a few second hand pc components for a 3rd computer to have around the house, when checking in via msinfo im currently getting weird descriptions for certain things and i can only assume whoever had this before me had used a HWID changer? or somehow changed serials of some of these products? i was wondering if there was any way around this? to get them to go back to default?

any help would be appreciated.

These are stored in the bios. Some OEM's provide their own ID changer for legitimate purposes, such as this from Lenovo...

The system machine type and model (MTM), serial number, or system brand ID in the BIOS menu can be corrected through a command line program in the system BIOS flash utility. Refer to the instructions below.

I also have W7 Pro on my System Two, and several W7 Hyper-V VMs. My other machines run Windows 10/11. Their specs are in my Ten Forums & Eleven Forum profiles.
