Archangel83,

Did you already tried to turn off, or uninstall your firewall?
First try to turn the firewall off, if that gives no result, try to uninstall it.

You could also try this with your viruscanner, last resort.

Maybe someone here has some ideas left?

Your computer seems to be connected to the Internet, so it is just a small step to make things work.

Best regards,

zx81

I have noticed that my wireless connection works fine when my laptop is plugged into the mains. If I unplug it to run just on the battery the wireless connection comes and goes and we get the problem again.

I am confused!

How could this be possible???

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Archangel83, from the error you've posted innitially "DNS Server not responding", and assuming you have allowed auto detect IP setting. the only conclusion i have is your ISP having issue with their DNS Server. AND/OR there might be a problem with your modem.

If you have Messenger Live, try and log on and see if it can connect. If not, do the Troubleshooting that it has to try and repair your connection. Messenger Live will tell you what issues you have with your intertnet connection.

Yeah It might be my surfbord modem it's about 5-6 years old and has had some hard abuse. I'm thinking of just haveing my isp give me a free webstar modem the tech that came out and replaced my old SA box with a new one looked at my modem and told me they dont use surfbords anymore that they use webstars as they made changes too their network.
