Xbox 360 update coming November 17

Microsoft is ready to launch their next big update to Xbox LIVE dashboard, with Twitter, Facebook, Last.fm and Zune video will all be available. The update will be available to all Xbox LIVE members on November 17.

The update will allow users to connect with friends and family though Facebook, directly from the comfort of your own couch. The Facebook integration will allow full support for news feeds, photos, instant messenger and the ability to browse through your own and friend's walls.

Honestly...I can see a good bit of XBOXs being used just to check facebook statuses and not for games anymore. Those poor developers....

Honestly...I can see a good bit of XBOXs being used just to check facebook statuses and not for games anymore. Those poor developers....

If they didn't do it first I'm sure Sony would have done it. In fact I believe Sony will do the same thing. Already adding Netflix streaming to the PS3.

i have to say that the facebook and last.fm application that i use are nice. its not something i will depend on but nice to check every once in a while when i am on my xbox.

Anyone that has it now having to re download it at random times? i have had to a few times on for both but they still auto log me in after the download. Dunno just a random occurance.

I personally don't use Zune, Facebook, twitter etc - so this doesn't really constitute as an improvement for me.

I'd be happy to trade all that for 1920x1200 NATIVE resolution...

Unfortunately that was several updates ago, so I'm not holding my breath. I don't think it's a priority for them.

I do miss the games console just being 'a games console' aspect.

I didn't understand that to well. In my opinion the main benefit of using a console over a PC is not having to worry over system specifications.

With a computer that is not the case.

I was just making a joke...

You are right about the console part...the only thing my gaming buddies have against consoles is lack of mouse/keyboard support (PS3 excluded), lack of user-made content (some games only, mods, maps, etc...) and the fact that a PC game running at max settings normally looks better than its Console counterpart

Even the half a**ed ports look far better than their console counterparts.

I've always switched back and forth between the two platforms and both have definite advantages/disadvantages.
