What's your dream rig?

So I guess I'm just not a hardcore enough of a PC gamer because I've never yet been inclined to do an SLI or Crossfire setup at all. So, while I am still using just 1 video card and not evening thinking about going to 2...there are others who actually have a need to run 4????

Honestly, is there really a "need" for this much video horsepower...or is it simply a matter or raising benchmarks or just having the most bragging rights?

99% of people don't need four cards, let alone three.

Two cards is the most that most people could want for heavy duty gaming and graphics design work.

One card works more than well enough to game effectively.

changed my mind, too common!!

this is THE ONE - EVGA X58 Classified 4-Way SLI

"EVGA is proud to announce the world's first 4-Way SLI motherboard, the EVGA X58 Classified 4-Way SLI Edition, this motherboard has an impressive 7 PCIe Expansion slots allowing you to combine up to 4 EVGA GTX 285 Graphics cards for extreme performance!
Important note: a case with 9 or more expansion slots is required, 10 for 4-Way SLI. See this page for a list of compatible PC cases."

 won't fit in the Corsair Obsidian
I was looking into this mobo yesterday, It's pretty impressive, the 7 pci-e being what sold me, but because of that there's no pci slot, I've got a pci TV Tuner that I can't do without....
and also
Too bad the 'Antec 200' or 'Tagan El Diablo' cases aren't on that list......

Honestly, is there really a "need" for this much video horsepower...or is it simply a matter or raising benchmarks or just having the most bragging rights?
Bragging rights, definately:D Wanting to have the best Rig possible is a lot of dudes dream, don't count me out, hehe...

I'm a bit of an audio nut...and honestly Bose is some of the most overrated and overpriced equipment out there. There are so many better choices out there, most available for a fraction of the cost of Bose. Before you invest in anything made by Bose, do yourself a favor and do your research.

BOSE = Better Off with Something Else
BOSE = Buy Other Stereo Equipment.

Haven't you heard the saying "if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing"? Not everyone wants to hear your opinion on everything.

If somebody here were to post a question about getting a motherboard known to have problems....those in the community who knew better would likely post that this wouldn't be a wise choice. If somebody here were to post about buying a particular CPU in hopes of overclocking it, but it wasn't a great CPU for overclocking, somebody here would likely suggest that other choices be considered.

As I suggested, before building your "dream rig" with a Bose setup, make sure that you do some research first as I expect that you are likely going to find a better performing setup and most likely will save yourself some cash as well.

I'm simply using my experience and knowledge to hopefully provide additional resources to others so that they can make good decisions....especially when spending hard earned money on computer related components.

Fair point pp. I haven't actually heard Bose stuff but it seems awfully expensive for such a tiny piece of kit.
I know they claim exclusive patented technology for their speakers but I'll stick with my enormous Mission domestic monitors through an A series amp.
I just can't believe (no evidence) that tiny little speakers could fill my room the way that these do.

As for my dream system; I've pretty much got it right now though I wouldn't mind adding a SSD and I anxiously await the Nvidia 300 series GPUs.

Best wishes all,J:)
