Since the Win 7 OEM is normally installed on a blank HD, does it give an option to format the HD or should this be done before installing the OEM disk?

I always format before installing a new OS... there are several third party apps available to do this... Good luck with your install..

it took me 40 mins lol
i had win 7 and i was slow and fed up with slow slow sloe and crashing. so luckily i got OEM version and i just custom install. deleted all partitions and installed win7 on a new partition. :D FRESH CLEAN install :D

I have two partitions now. My D: drive are my XP restore files. I want to format D:, remove the partition and have my C: left for Win 7. Can I format D:, delete partition and Format C: during the install or should I format D: before the install?

Yes you can do all of that during the install but do you not want to keep the data on D ?

I am not going back to XP. I don't see any reason to keep the files. Maybe I am wrong. Why do you think I should keep the files?

an the funny thing is that...i paid $90 +t ax (around $100 total) for it on a special preorder day special and...isnt OEM the FULL version of windows 7? hahahahahaha great deal for me :D
