Hi,
I have a gaming laptop I bought about 1 month ago...
It is an ASUS G71
It came with Western Digital 500 gb 7200RPM drive...
I added a Segate 500 gb 7200 rpm drive in the second slot underneath....

I cannot find anywhere in the Bios to make both drives work in raid...
And I am having trouble finding a way to do this in the software also...
I have windows 7 home premium and eventually I'll get windows 7 ultimate when the price comes down.....

I'm deciding raid1 for mirroring. I just cannot find where to do it... :/
And is there is any software for windows that's free, I cant even find something to buy......lol All i get is random commerical sights trying to tell about raid setups....

And, if I do get software to make raid1 for mirroring, if my OS hard drive fails, will i still be able to boot from my mirrored drive?
It would be nice :D

I was wondering what everyone else thinks...
And, I'd rather not reinstall my operating system....

Thanks for your time,
zBuster

It's gonna be slow, but it is possible from within Windows. Never have done it myself tho'

You can create RAID by selection the option in BIOS.
1: when bootung, hit F2 to access BIOS and select RAID configuration
2: save by F10 and reboot.
3: when booting, hit F2, than You will for a few second see the disks, hit 'CTRL' + 'I' to create RAID. here You can select striping / mirroring.
Than save:D
