Nvidia Geforce fx5200 won't work on aero??

Well, after I installed windows 7 on my system (because i got a serious virus which is a very long story), I installed the latest version of my driver then the aero thing doesn't work it says on the troubleshooter that my card has to be a WDDM or Windows Display Driver Model thing, what should I do??? By the way, my video card is 128MB, it works perfectly on windows vista also the aero on vista works!! any suggestions???

Install this using the device manager after it is extracted to C:\NVIDIA by running it.

After it extracts, close the installer.

Go to device manager. Right click on standard vga. Update driver software. Browse. Let me pick. Have disk. Browse.

Navigate to C:\NVIDIA and find the .inf. Double click on it and hit ok. Hit next. It will install. Reboot after and then choose an Aero theme by right clicking the desktop, Personalize.

I already did that, what is the most updated version of it (latest version for windows 7)?? so that I can activate aero??

Tried getting your GFX driver from Windows Update?

If you did it then you're good. If you have the name of your card in device manager it's good.
Choose an Aero theme and if you can't, click the link at bottom of Personalization screen to troubleshoot it and it will fix.

Already tried it, I thought it would fix my problems but it made it worst, it keeps restarting, so I would like to do it manually so i can see the latest version, but what I'm wondering is that I installed it on vista then the aero graphics works perfectly!!! After I installed vista it automatically found my video card but after my windows 7 installation I have to found the latest version of the card????

Yep tried it also,, I cannot understand the Windows Display Driver Model thing comes up, does anyone know where the latest version of this driver can be downloaded???

Is your graphics card the only one shown in display adapters section of the device manager?

Are there any mirrored drivers listed there too?

The WDDM only means it needs the driver installed and may be complaining because you didn't install it well. Maybe show us a screenshot of the device manager.

Actually the taskbar you are looking only looks like there's an aero but there isn't,, the windows is not transparent.....

It's Aero. Anything else would look gray.

Perhaps that's the best your card can do in Win 7.

Right click the computer shortcut. Choose properties. Then go to advanced system settings. Click settings box in performance on advanced tab. Look at settings there to see if they're all enabled. If you can't, then out of luck and upgrade needed.

Not true, I had nVidia's GeForce FX5200 card before I upgraded the PC, never had any problems with it. There is no driver for Win7, however, but I just used the driver for Vista and it worked. Is THIS the driver version you installed?

There are different card with that number, like all numbers.

Maybe his isn't as good as yours or something. I dunno. But checking what I said will fix it if it is indeed capable.

Also, run the WEI score wizard to update the rating. An un-updated rating could be the problem.
