Citing a rising tide of complaints from people who unknowingly bought counterfeit software infected with malware,

Microsoft on Thursday announced the launch of educational initiatives and enforcement actions in over 70 countries to raise awareness of counterfeit software and to protect consumers. Such complaints have doubled in the past two years, according to the company, reaching 150,000, a fairly large number considering such reports are made voluntarily by consumers. … Microsoft claims that counterfeit software is becoming more dangerous.

Thank you reghakr, for sharing with us. Maybe your post will help everyone, honest and dishonest, alike. The honest may be helped, if those wanting to buy a copy of 7 that is not legit, decide not to go that route, saving us all money. The dishonest may be helped by making the decision to stay legit, saving themselves a lot of grief in the future.
