Need Help - Why my 9650m GT can't update the driver

Help me......why my nvidia 9650m GT can't update the driver in my asus M50VN....everytime i try to update the driver...the driver is installed but show me some error message....

the error message is "Display driver Nvidia Windows Karnel Mode Driver, Version 186.81 stopped responding and has successfully recovered".....but not long after that, my laptop is black out, no operation can be able to operate.....
and i roll back to the normal driver in 176.05....
help me please...

Did you try removing the device from device manager and uninstalling your older drivers if they have been left installed?

It seems that you might need to update your bios to version 212 or the lastest for your model according to this article.On Asus laptop models M70Vn,N8Vn,X72Vn and M50VN. It mentions flickering and freezing but I imagine not limited to only that. It's worth a place to start. Please read all the way thorough you'll see win 7 mentioned. Hope it helps.
