Cannot Upgrade to Windows7 - Cannot Uninstall ATI CCC?

Hello, I am trying to upgrade from Vista 32bit to Windows 7 32bit but in the installation process the compatibility report/upgrade advisor says:

These programs might not work properly after the upgrade. We recommend uninstalling these programs before upgrading. Cancel the upgrade, open Control Panel, and search for "uninstall a program". (Note: Programs marked as * can be safely reinstalled after the upgrade.)

· ATI CATALYST Install Manager *
· ATI Catalyst Control Center *
My problem is when I click Start, Control Panel, Programs and Features, I see ATI CATALYST Install Manager (3.0.710.0) and I can completely remove it but for ATI Catalyst Control Centre I can't even see it.

So now I’m stuck on what to do next because I don't want to install windows 7 if it recommends me to uninstall ATI Catalyst Control Center. What should I do?

Just to let you know: On the windows 7 compatibility center online I search software, ATI and it says both ati install manager and catalyst control center are compatible but when i run the upgrade advisor these programs appear. (as shown above)
Any ideas/comments will be much appreciated thank you.

I have a Sony Vaio Laptop VGN-NW11S/S with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 graphics card

ATI Catalyst control center is 2.0.0.0 shown in updrage report.

I right click ATI icon bottom right and select 'about' and it says version2009.0515.32.42252
Microsoft NET framework version is 2.0.50727.4200

I had the same problem. After you install 7, just go to the website and reinstall.

Everything will be gone after the installation you need the software, also.

One more piece of advice, before you do anything make a system image of what you have now. You can use Acronis (free for 30 days) or Macrium Reflex (free). In the event that things go wrong, with the installation or CCC, you can go back to square one and start again. Hey, there is not a better Christmas gift that you can give yourself than the best OS, out there.

I do not know about every backup device, but if a problem ocurrs can you restore your HD to where it is now? If yes, you are good to go.

The programs that I mentioned are more that what you have and more than system restore. Before you make any big change such as update OS, you should have a copy of your hard drive. It is a picture of your hard drive. If anything goes wrong you can go back to that point in time. Take your time, so things do not go wrong. Look into Macreium Reflex, it has the ability to bring your hard drive back to where it is now regardless of what happens. It is good to have in the event of a HD failure. If your HD fails now, you are screwed.

Theres a problem with that because I have recently bought my laptop before the windows 7 release so I applied for a windows 7 free upgrade this means i cannot do a clean install and can only upgrade.

Take your DVD and start the installation, it will ask you clean or upgrade. Go with clean. But do not give your key number. Complete the installation. Now try it, then install your programs. After you know that you are happy, give them your number. You have 30 days to activate with your number. We also have tutorials at this site that will give more information.

is this what you downloaded and installed...this is the entire suite version 9.12? i had version 2.0.0.0...i'm afraid to install a wrong version and everything blow up.... http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx
