I'm sorry everyone but i tried my best to search for a solution to this problem on this site before creating a new thread. I heard people talk about installing realtek's drivers and something about MFGR drivers (i have no idea what that is). As for realtek, i tried downloading and installing it but it says my computer doesn't have anything installed to support realtek, so im really confused now. My computer's speakers seem to be echoing and "amplified" when i play music. I have the Logitech G51 speakers and say for example, back in xp, i would have one light on to indicate the volume level, but now that i have windows 7, that one light indication sounds like its at 3 lights, and the subwoofer is pounded the floor like crazy...i feel like its going to break! Does anyone have a solution?

(if my one light two light thing sounds confusing please tell me LOL)

Edit: Thank you in advance!

Welcome and nice post.

I am reasonably sure it is your driver and we can help you install it. Do you know what sound card/chipset it is supposed to be? If you tell us the model we can look, or if you type dxdiag in search and look for the sound tab, it should tell you but let us know if you need help with it

There could be a very good reason for that, after looking at the Asus download page for the motherboard model you have listed in your specs (P4S533), the only audio driver available for that board is C-Media( CMI8738/C3DX ) and not Realtek. Might want to give the CMI8738 driver from here (beta only, but should work),

C-Media Company Information

the one you want is,

CMI8738 Windows 7 RC Build7100 CMI8738 BETA driver for Windows 7 8.17.37 2009-01-09

to zigzag : the model of my sound blaster live sound card is CT4830 ( i couldn't even find this on any website haha) edit: i wasn't sure how to find the model number via dxdiag, so i just peeked under my sound card lol :)

to stormy : I'm using a sound card though...i thought about using my onboard sound card (does that make sense? lol) but since i have the G51 speakers, its a real waste. edit: i just downloaded what you recommended and it says "Please plug-in a C-Media PCI Audio Device device"...gahh!! lol

thank you zigzag and stormy :)

Tha's what I get for not fully reading your specs, that and you didn't mention a sound card in your opening post. In that case and after now seeing what you have listed for a sound card #4 here,

http://www.sevenforums.com/sound-audio/21804-creative-sound-cards.html

should get you drivers installed and working.

P.S. That CT4830 is also known as the SB Live Value (4.1 only, no 5.1 support). I have the same card, but it has been sitting in a box collecting dust now.
