A Christmas Present For Me

I've been a very good boy this year, so I rewarded myself with a new rig...

The Bits and Pieces:
  • Thermaltake Element S Chassis
  • Corsair CMPSU-850HX PSU
  • ASUS P7P55D EVO Motherboard (Onboard VIA VT1828 8-channel sound)
  • Intel Core i5-750 CPU
  • 8GB (4 x 2GB) Crucial SDRAM DDR3 1333
  • XFX Radeon HD 5770 Graphics Card
  • LG GGC-H20L Blu-ray/HD DVD-ROM & DVD±R Burner
  • LG GH22 Super Multi DVD Writer
  • 2x Western Digital 300GB VelociRaptor HDD
  • 2x 500GB Seagate Barracuda HDD
  • Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 1850
  • Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 7 HSF (RMA'd - defective)

At home next to his big brother (my WHS machine) - It's ALIVE!
My New Rig 009.JPGMy New Rig 010.JPG

I had to stick with the stock Intel HSF for now since the Arctic Cooling unit was defective (it had no threads in the mounting bracket for attaching the heatsink to the base - making it pretty useless). The stock cooler is actually working quite well and is keeping things in the 40-60°C range depending on load, but I'll be waiting until I can upgrade the cooler before attempting any overclocking experiments.

My teenage son also benefitted from this build - he inherited my old workstation complete with a Q6600 on a MSI P6N Diamond, 8 Gigs of RAM, 2xGeForce 8600's in SLI, an Antec 900 chassis, and Windows 7 x64 Ultimate (of course).

Needless to say, we are both quite pleased...
:p

Hey so this is my first post, I guess its a show and tell, well I went from a windows 95 case, ASUS something motherboard, running 512 MB Ram, pentium 3 processor, Analog display, three 10GB IDE HDDs, to My Blue Sonic case, Gigabyte M61PME-S2P, 4GB ram, AMD Athlon x2 x64, LCD display, 298GB SATA HDD... Trying to overclock, but have litte knowledge as where to start. Big change for me, not as good as some I've seen here though. Nice guys! Also, Windows Seven Professional, of course :)

GA-965P-DS3P Rev. 3.3, ASUS GTX285 and Intel Q6600. Added a 1TB WD Caviar Black HDD.

But I'll have to change the PSU... why? Because one cable is short..... I guess the PSU is not compatible with the HAF922:zip:

Look at the ScreenShot, the highlighted cable is too short:(:shock:, that's why I had to use a temporary fix, the PSU stays outside of the case:

It was with my 932
Yea, that's a bummer:rolleyes: I guess it was one of the last minute decisions Cooler Master made, you know, when they decided not to include the 200 x 30mm side panel fan with Red LED, so, that 4pin ATX extension cable could be on the 'Cost Reduction' plan.

There should have been an extension cable that came with the case. if not, just buy a cheap one. No need to replace the entire PSU ;)
Oddly enough mine didn't come with one, isn't it like a standard procedure to include one?

You could just extend it yourself, just cut one wire at a time so there's no mix-up; piece of cake.

;)

:zip:Sorry, I don't have it in me to do that, I mean I can do it, but I just can't bring myself to do it, I'm still looking for the extension cable.
