Not to be a downer but.... This year I learned my wife of 20 years has terminal cancer. I always planned on her out living me. The doctor told us December 14th.

Was starting to post, to brag about all the nice stuff I got. After reading your post it was no longer so important. I got something.

I write this as my Christmas present to all of you. Consider it a gift of hard won wisdom.

Nothing you worry about now matters. Your life should revolve 100 percent around those people that you love. In the end when you take stock of your life, when forced by circumstance to understand what it means to loose Joy, you will know then the value of love.

You will also know shame and resentment of time wasted, of poor behavior, of chances lost to bring joy to your loved ones. Start this instant to fix that.

Step away from your PC. Put down the beer. Make someone smile. Ease someones suffering.

Have sex. Lots of it. The more you have the more you want. It makes you a better person.

Its ok to deny yourself anything to further a goal, except feelings. Never deny how you feel. Every time you do you die a little.

Understand right at this very instance that the life you have been waiting to start, the joy you have put off is happening right now. Get your head into the moment. Feel the air on your skin. Notice everything.

This is it folks, there is no promise that it will ever get better.

Keep looking up mate; this life here is just the beginning.

exactly it either gets better or worse......... sorry about your wife..... but..... doctors have been wrong, for example a friend of mine's mother was taken to the hospital two days ago, when she got there the doctor took some tests..... and said she should be dead..... yet she is back home and better today. so keep looking up man.
on the Christmas end..... i got me a new guitar and a good bit of money that will go towards my boss pedalboard and my lessons i hope everyone had a merry Christmas!

They thought they got me the wrong present when they saw the size of it!
They don't mind - my sister already has smaller speakers for her iPod (that are quite loud!) and will let me play mine in the morning once everyone is up

Not many good Asian women there at FT Hood. My Ex was a Thai and with the 902nd MI and she is not a good one! At FT Hauchuca, AZ I re conned in in to bring food to her and could have taken the entire troop out! Army Intel just can't get it! Guess that it how that Muslim was able to kill so many folks there. Guess my training was better and after years of assault strikes I was able to use that as an advantage! Just a knife is all I needed then!
