Is it possible to force windows media player 12 to always use ac3filter?
On XP I could normally use WMP with ac3 filter for listening mp3's. Few days ago I switched to 7 and WMP12 doesn't load ac3filter although its set to prefer. If I listen in mpc hc there is no problem, ac3filter loads normally when listening to music or watching movies.

Is there any way to force WMP12 to use ac3filter?

PS I'm listening music through SPDIF.

Although I am not completely sure, I think that the answer is pretty much a simple no :(

I think there has to be something we can do. Why would they disallow us from changing filters?

Because clearly WMP never allowed us to change the filters from within the program itself. For example, when choosing a renderer to output videos, you can set any of them in Media Player Classic, and WMP will simply adapt to that renderer, considering it the default one. So if you set the AC3 filter as the default when you play music, WMP should adopt to it, but if it doesn't, I can't really think of anything that can be done.

Yeah, that's how it worked in XP. Don't know why they changed it now :(
BTW Pozdrav :)

Hoho pozdrav komšija ;)

They changed it when building WMP12, I guess, because now WMP supports a lot more file inputs than before. One of the reasons I threw away WinAmp I always hated is because WMP12 now supports .m4a files :D
