Will Nero 6.6 run in Windows 7?

I use Nero 6.6 on my XP system. The W 7 compatibility site does not say whether it is compatible with W 7 or not. Does anyone know if it will run correctly in W 7?

I use to use Nero 7 in XP, and that doesn't work in Win7, so I'm pretty sure 6.6 won't work either.

I switched over to Burnaware (Free version). For what I do I find it much better then Nero and is much lighter on the system.
Plus it is for Windows 7 32 or 64 bit systems!
They release updates periodically. New version came out today.

The full version of Nero contains quite a number of software applications. Which of them would you like to replace with free apps?

I had nero 6 & 7 and neither worked when i changed to win 7 x64
I just bit they bullet and bought retail nero 9 cause i like the prog so much and am used to it

I originally thought that you'd reply with a short list of Nero applications that you use, and that I may be able to help with a list of free alternatives... LOL
I'm at a loss to say anything other than: buy Nero 9! Nothing else has this many features
And to try and collect enough freeware to perform the same tasks would most likely be a mind numbing exercise

Nero versions 7 and bellow will not work with windows 7 you need Nero 8 or higher.

If you want free application you could go for Nero 9 Lite Nero - Nero 9 Lite ? download it's free This version of Nero 9 contains simply data burning and disc copying features for CDs and DVDs. Additional features and functionality are available with an upgrade to Nero 9 full version.

You need to have nero9 installed in order to have nero7 working.

I Beg to differ we don't want Nero 9 to install Nero 7 just install Nero 7 with XP compatibility mode that should install fine. I used to quiet long no issues so far. I use the full version with all features

Can't see why Nero 7 Ultra won't work -- works fine on my system -- Build 7.8.5.0

Installed fine.

I'm running W7 X-64 Enterprise.

I only use Nero now for creating an Audio CD from FLAC files -- I often make my own Audio CD's for a Kenwood Car CD / Minidisc combo unit. I use the Mega plugin pack which enables FLAC ===>CD Audio for a CD).

For burning / ripping / other stuff there's a whole slew of better programs out there now although the NERO WAV EDITOR isn't too bad.

Thanks Jimbo i'm not the only person who made it to work

I used almost all features Like Burning DVD's creating DVD movies, Nero Vision, Image Driver etc.
