Hi there are 2 things that I'm trying to do the first is to pin things like computer, control panle, network ect to the superbar.
The second is to be able to stack the pind icons verticaly as my superbar is two or three lines deep. Then I could use it as an alternitive to quicklaunch. I've been trying to do this for ages but thought it was just a flaw with win7 that I couldn't till I saw that someone else manidged it here (Buggy taskbar if positioned on top and taller than normal - Windows 7 Taskforce). Do you know how they did it.

So maybe it is just broken in the build I have. I think I've got 7000 but I'm not sure where to check. Its the public beta that was available from MS.

Hello nikost4,

Welcome to the Seven Forums.

You can get that info by typing 'winver' (no quotes) into the start menu search box. Sounds like you have build 7000. This works in 7000 also. You must have enough icons to force the wrap. I did it here by dragging a toolbar over to reduce the size available for pinned icons.

Hope this helps.

I see, I was hopping that i would be able to organize the pined items into a square ( sort of like quick launch ) and have non pined programs appear as normal. Are you able to pin "my computer" to the superbar. I have a check and it is indeed build 7000.

You're not going to be able to see your monitor very well if you pin your computer to the Taskbar LOL, seriously though I'm afraid it won't let you but can make anew toolbar and put a shortcut in it for computer. :)

Hello Nikost4.

You can get Control Panel, Computer and Libraries all together.

To do so:

1. Restore Libraries location to where it was before
2. Create a new shortcut anywhere (e.g. in c:\) and use as path:
c:\windows\explorer.exe shell:mycomputerfolder
Rename the shortcut to Computer and pin it to the taskbar.
3. Create another shortcut and use as path:
c:\windows\explorer.exe shell:controlpanelfolder
Rename it to control panel and pin that too to the taskbar.

Done. You have all three of them pinned.

   Information
To change icons in the shortcuts, right-click them, choose properties, change icon, and browse to the file c:\windows\system32\imageres.dll which contains all the fancy icons.
