Free Registry Cleaner?

My philosophy is simply "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

It sounds basic, but there's a lot of wisdom behind that motto.

If my computer boots up fast, runs fast, and does not throw any error messages at me, I'll let it be.

Screwing around with it just might make things worse.

don't use registry cleaner in Ccleaner, it's a time-bomb. everything will start showing error messages gradually. in my case I'm lucky I was still be able to do a System Restore.

and guys, how about uniblue registry booster? It has GOLD MICROSOFT CERTIFICATE. I've used its registry cleaning once that has found 2000 registry errors and had it fix it all 2 days ago, not a single error YET.

I find that rather disturbing..

Ccleaner has NEVER ever caused me any problems
- and I've been using it for 5 years..!!
the cleaner yes, but the reg cleaner, in xp and vista maybe, but not for win 7 I have proven it myself, powerdvd9 and nero9 showing many error messages I dont understand, and applications such as uniblue speed booster, games etc are losing their license and settings.

Those ads saying GOLD MICROSOFT CERTIFICATE or Microsoft Gold Partner or any reference to Microsoft whatsoever is a fraud. Microsoft does NOT endorse or approve the use of these products, you use them at your own risk and if you "break" your Windows install by using them, then Microsoft offers no refund or solution, except paid support. These are con artists trying to get your money. Microsoft has their own cleaner, it's called Windows Live Safety Scanner. They have a Win 7/Vista and XP & below versions. It's the only registry cleaner that they support. Anyone who can pay the cash can be a Microsoft or TechNet partner, and not know even how to properly install an OS, that doesn't mean anything. I personally called Microsoft and asked them if they endorsed these products, and was told NO. So when you go online looking for these products and see Microsoft's name mentioned, go the other way.

If Microsoft has his own registry cleaner then clean the registry is valid and good.

If you do not have knowledge of the registry, then you would probably be better off leaving it alone, and definitely not placing blind trust in ANY program to do the job for you.

IF you really want to clean your registry, use the built in tool with ccleaner. it's a trusted product but even then make sure to make a backup just incase, messing with the registry can wreck havoc on your system

try Mil Shield

I have Mil Shield. A good, really good software to clean your system including the windows registry. It's free but only for 22 days. But it is worth, though.
