trouble with uprading from win7 32 to win7 64

Well im trying upgrade from win7 32 bit to win7 64 bit on my computer, but I get the error when I use the setup.exe "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running.Check your computer's system infomation to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher." . I also try to boot from disk , but it get stuck at the window screen with just my mouse pointer showing . Any help would be great - Thanks

Do a clean install

well I cant even get to the custom or clean install option , after i boot from disk .. windows files are loaded then im stuck @ a blue screen with only my mouse pointer . Any help would be greatfull -thanks

This is a good place to start. Download, test and get back to us with the results.

You have to set the BIOS to boot from the DVD. Put DVD in computer and then boot up.

I am sure that is your problem, but do the above test first.

And my Bios are already set to boot from cd/dvd (well it gives me the option to boot from cd)

It sounds like a conflict between 64 bit and 32 bit, which should happen if you are not booting from the DVD, but rather from your OS. I know that you told me that you set the BIOS to boot from the DVD, but I can only tell you what the problem appears to be, to me.

Wait longer for the installer files to load after booting the DVD.

hi change the boot priority the disc drive instead of the harddrive first then try runnin the disc from bios
