Start Menu Power button option is missing

I have just upgrated from XP to Win 7 Home Premium. I'm missing the option to close my pc down with hybernation to get at much faster close down and restart.
Due to I can not get the "hybernation" menu option into the start menu.

I open "Power Option" click on "Change Advanced power Settings" and click on "Power buttons and lid". Here can I only see "Power button action" and have set it to "hybernate" which works"

I'm missing "Sleep button action" and "Start menu power button".

Can any one help me?

Once you open the Power Options window,on the left click Choose what the power buttons do
Change the sleep button to Hibernate
Im not sure if this means the actual button on the front of your PC or the one on the start menu.

Either way you should now be able to set Hibernate.

Perhaps someone else can get you the options you want.

Fill out your system specs (click on the link in my signature) so we can look at your computer model. Run windows update and grab any "optional updates" related to your computer hardware. Let us know.

The OP (original poster) wants to have the sleep function work, its not on the "advanced settings" screen for him to turn on.

Thanks, I have tried to change the multimedia settings. I did not help.
The win7 settings are a bit different from the shown vista parameteres se attached picture

Hello Jesper,

The Hibernate option will not be available in the Start Menu Power Button unless you have hibernate enabled and have hybrid sleep turned off in your Power Plan Options.
