this is nice, but does Chrome have anything like FF's profile feature?

It's about time. I've been having to use beta, dev and Chromium builds that crash all the time, just so I could have my extensions. Thanks for the heads up. :D

I'm running the dev build and I've got it set just right with a great look and the extensions I want.
I have had some stability issues (mostly with Googles own apps) but nothing drastic.

Will this install over what I have or will I have two Chrome installs?

I'm pretty sure that it will install over what you have, unless you were running a Chromium build.

Edit: After running it for a bit, it definitely does seem more stable, especially on Facebook. I've only had one crash so far, so I guess we'll see how it goes.

Sort of. If you add -user-data-dir="drive:\dir" to the end of the target box in the exe properties, you can specify where cache files go. But theres no hard profiling like FF's.

Good news

Love chrome but I also have concerns regarding the apparent lack of a moz backup utility or Weave for saving my extensively tweaked beta 4 Chrome profile. Has it been confirmed that Stable 4 will dl'd over top & into the existing build, leaving everything in tact ? Strikes me as rather odd that no one (especially Google) has made a profile backup tool considering the rapid release rate of Chrome builds. A search came up with a few tool claiming to backup a bit more than just bookmarks but none were newer than 2.

Anyone knowing of a utility or method let me know please!
Regards,
J23

Interesting, thanks. I'll look into that. FF ain't perfect but the profile thing cuts down on a lot of headaches.

Well that's interesting. So if I am reading this right and I almost read it once :-) the current beta build I am using for this post is the stable release. Is this correct? Seems like a confusing move on Google's part but ...oh yeah that's right. It's Google.
I hope Google puts together a comprehensive Forum (sort of like...this one or Mozilla's, not just html 5 video that tell me what a browser is) so that we can work together on building that which they have yet to supply.

Back on track. So do I have this correct? I already have the stable release in running Chrome Beta Build 4.0.249.78 . Where's your video for that Google (shakes fist @ sky) Btw-Does it strike any of you that FF 3.6 is hemorrhaging memory? Even by FF standards as of late. That & it takes @ least 4 times longer to start than IE 8?? I am considering parting ways with FF and I have used it since it evolved out of my beloved Netscape Communicator 4.1. Now there was a browser suite.
Later,
J23
